About
Hello, I’m Mara.
Astrologer and tarot reader, reading charts since 2009 from a small studio on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.

My story
I learned the sky from my grandmother’s almanac.
She kept a farmer’s almanac by the kitchen window in Albuquerque and planted by the Moon. I started reading tarot at seventeen and my first paying chart client came in 2009.
In 2014 I moved my practice to Santa Fe for the dark skies. Today I read for clients in forty countries, teach a beginners’ course every winter, and write a short letter at each New Moon.
How I work
Three promises in every reading.
01
Plain language
No jargon you have to look up afterwards. If a term matters, I explain it.
02
Dates, not riddles
You’ll leave knowing when, not just what: the weeks to push and the weeks to rest.
03
Your choices
Astrology describes the weather. You decide where to walk. I never tell you what you must do.
Along the way
Twenty years of reading the sky.
2006
First tarot deck
A birthday present. I read for friends for three years before charging anyone.
2009
First chart clients
Natal readings from a back room in Albuquerque, by word of mouth.
2014
Santa Fe
A small studio on Canyon Road, under some of the darkest skies in America.
2019
Teaching
The first Read Your Own Chart course; it now runs every winter.
2026
3,200 charts
Clients in forty countries, most of them by video.
Kind words
From clients.
I came in skeptical and left with the clearest picture of myself I've had in years. Practical, warm, and nothing vague.

The synastry session changed how my partner and I argue. Less blame, more curiosity. We still refer to our notes.

I booked a tarot session for one question and got three better questions. Exactly what I needed.
Anouk V.

The year-ahead calendar lives on my fridge. Twice now it has warned me to slow down at exactly the right time.
Priya S.
London
Practical, warm and never vague. I left with dates, not riddles.

I didn't know my birth time and worried it would be pointless. It wasn't. Mara explained exactly what we could and couldn't see.
